Relationship with Dad? They tolerate each other. Gets easily defensive when his dad talks to him.

How does he feel about his mom leaving? He misses her, more protective of her than either Charlie or Jamie. Gets upset when they say bad things about her.

I have a lot of love for Nate. I had a lot of fun writing his character and playing out the dynamics between him and Jamie, him and Charlie, him and Collin. Especially because Nate operates very differently from Jamie and Charlie. He isn’t as scarred or jagged. It was fun to play with the ways kids are both alike and different from their parents; which traits and characteristics they take on from each parent.

I can’t wait to find out what Nate’s story is, where he goes from where he leaves off in Running to Stand Still.

Up next: Jamie and Nate’s dad, Charlie (where Nate gets his middle name from)

Until next time, farewell & may your life never cease to be filled with wonder and curiosity.
